IAM is hosting a Consular Camp on Saturday, June 27, 2026.  Officials from the Indian Consulate, Chicago and VFS services will be there to help to provide the following services.

VFS Services provided:

  • Passport Renewal
  • OCI applications
  • Renunciation
  • Indian VISA services
  • GEP
  • Police Clearance Certificate

Onsite Consular Services:

  • Issueance of : Marriage Certificate, Life Certificate, Birth Certificate based on passport particulars, NRI Certificate
  • NORI – I & NORI-III
  • Attestation of Power of Attorney, Affidavits, Death documents
  • Birth Registration
  • Transportation of mortal remains to India

Get your questions answered from the consular officials onsite.

NOTE: As of December 30, 2024, the Government of India mandates that all foreign-issued documents, particularly birth certificates for minors and marriage certificates for name changes, must be apostilled for OCI applications. This step applies to U.S.-issued documents. The apostille must be obtained from the Secretary of State where the child was born/document issued, and may take upto 5 weeks. A copy of the apostilled document should be uploaded to the application online and the physical version should be brought to the event on June 27th for verification.

Documents applicable in case of fresh application of a person who is a foreign citizen by birth and never held Indian passport.
