Gaalipata Movie Review: A Stunner: Boxoffice verdict: Super Hit!!! A slick fast paced movie full of John Gresham kind of dry sarcastic humor throughout the movie. The biggest strengths of this movie are the dialogues, the screenplay and of course Ganesh. Ganesh's performance is more matured, brilliant and full of life. Almost every line of Ganesh in this movie has dry sarcastic humor in them. Even the tragic scenes have been shot with sarcastic humor without losing the "tragedy" effect. The dialogues have been so powerful that kannada had never sounded so beautiful before. Since ages, Kannda movies suffered from the textbook dramatic kannada which used to kill the realistic value of the movie. Directors like Prem(Jogi) and Upendra(Om, A) tried to put an end to this unrealistic dramatic kannada and succeeded to a certain extent. In Gaalipata, Yograj Bhat excels in this front. The kannada slang's have been used extensively in this movie. Good for the kannada language and as well as for kannada movie industry. in fact, Gaalipata is the best thing that could have happened to the kannada industry. The screen play and dialogues are written brilliantly, completely out of the blue even though there is no story in the movie!! Full credit to Yograj Bhat. I came across one of Yograj Bhat's interviews in The Hindu in which he had mentioned that Dil Chahta Hain was one of his most favourite films. Sure, he must have inspired from this movie to come up with 3 friends group in Gaalipata. All the actors in this movie have excelled in their roles. Ganesh, Anant nag, and Daisy to name a few. R. Rathnavelu's camera work is beautiful. Yograj Bhat's obsession with nature, particularly water falls has been picturized superbly Courtesy http://bellitere.com/gaalipata.html |
